Time: Executive board meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00
pm, except in May (annual potluck meeting the first Sunday instead) and
December (no meeting due to holidays).
Description of Organization: The Glen Helen Association (GHA) is a
non-profit friends-of organization to Glen Helen, a nature preserve
with 1,000 acres and over 25 miles of trails.
The primary purpose of this organization is
1.) the preservation of Glen Helen as a natural area, and
2.) the support of activities which enhance the public's use, enjoyment, and knowledge of nature.
GHA also
coordinates Glen Helen’s membership program and sponsors many of the
fundraising opportunities for supporters of Glen Helen, including the
Nature Shop (a store located at 405 Corry St. vending nature-related
items).
Volunteers
Needed: plenty of volunteer needs for stewardship, individual major
events, staffing the Nature Shop and front desk on weekends and
weekdays, helping with administrative needs and membership recruitment,
and running to serve on the Board.
